Set in October 1978, Pope John Paul 1 is not long dead, Autumn is closing in and Pat Farnon has 'some business’ to do in town. ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’ follows Pat Farnon as he walks to town and back again.

This beautifully observed piece has toured across the USA and Ireland including a sell-out run at the Abbey Theatre Dublin.

One man show ‘The Man in the Woman’s Shoes’ will be performed by writer Mikel Murfi, on Thursday 16 November at Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said, “Mikel is one of Ireland’s leading physical theatre performers and directors. Originally from Sligo, he trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Paris. His many performances include the New Electric Ballroom (Druid), Playboy of the Western World (Peacock), the Tempest (Abbey Theatre), and Desire Under the Elms (Lyric, Hammersmith). His film work includes The Butcher Boy, Love and Rage, Guiltrip, and most recently Jimmy’s Hall. It is not often we get the chance to have talent of Mikel’s calibre in our theatre, and I urge you not to miss it.”
