Lisnagarvey 3's 2-1 Newry 2's

Newry travelled to Lisnagarvey 3's on Saturday hoping to get back into winning ways again, Before the game there was a minutes silence held for past club president Sam McCullough which was impeccably held. Newry struggled to get the ball moving early on with Garvey doing damage with long balls to the wings. The home side took the lead midway through the first half when a mixup in the Newry defence let the 'Garvey striker in on goal and he duely slotted home. Newry got back on level terms when David England fired home a cracking short corner but Newry's joy was short lived as 'Garvey scored straight away with a short corner of their own. Newry played a lot better in the second half and were creating a lot more chances however a number of last ditch tackles kept them at bay. Andrew Gilmer came close to get Newry back on level terms only to see his audacious lob attempt just go over the bar. Newry were unlucky not to get a second when a goal was dissallowed with the umpires unable to agree if the last touch were inside or outside the circle. Newry continued to press but could not find the equaliser and went down 2-1.
