WET NIGHT FOR QUEENS 5K / 3K BUT SGR SHINE

Six SGR braved the cold and rain on Wednesday evening in Belfast to take on the Deep RiverRock Queen’s 5k /3K ‘Race Round the River’. The first race of the night seen the 3K event with the Muckian family of Father Brian and sons Joshua and James rip up the course with excellent times on a wet night and coast home.This was followed by Paddy Hamilton ,Colm Murphy and Lawrence Malone who took on the 5k race ,Paddy came home with a great 6th place finish and all the lads finished with outstanding times in Belfast . A great night for the club over all and what a future we have to look forward to with the Muckian boys in our club .just inspiring .

SGR OUT IN FORCE IN DUNDALK

Saturday saw a large SGR team take to the Dundalk's roads for the very popular North East Runners Patsy Kelly 5k. This year once again the SGR team did not disappoint with great times and doing the club proud.Well done to our good friends at North East Runners on another outstanding event.

TERRY'S NEW PB AT OMAGH
Well done to SGR Terry Mulkerns and Erin Larkin at the Omagh Half Marathon on Saturday. This turned out to be a great event for both runners coming home with great times and Terry setting a NEW PB for the Half Marathon.

FLYING THE SGR COLOURS PROUDLY IN CRAIGAVON

Well done to Father and son team of Stephen and Keelan McCabe at the Almac 10k in Craigavon on Saturday an event held for the Southern Area Hospice, both Stephen and Keelan came away with excellent times and proudly represented the club colours at this great event . Thank you to Denise McCabe for the photo and times .

ONLY ONE GREAT TEAM IN MANCHESTER THIS WEEKEND

Forget about Man City and Utd there was only one team in Manchester over the weekend teamSGR . Slieve Gullion Runners Hugh Morgan and Kevin McSherry took to the streets of the city for the Manchester Marathon which is the second largest marathon only to London, they both did the club proud. Both men battled hard and came across the line in great times with Hugh just seven mins off a 3 hour marathon and coming in 21st place in the MV55 section. Well done to them both .

LAST HILL REPEAT IN PROGRAMME

The last  hill repeat takes place this Thursday 11th April from 6.30-7.30pm. 1-mile hill repeats. Start:  top of Dublin rd (Cloughue Chapel) This is a 1 hr session to do at your pace. Please allow time for potential traffic and finding a parking space. We would like to start on time and leave together.  Please wear reflective gear

SGR MONDAY CLUB RUN

SGR have a club run every Monday evening meeting at Pairc Elser from 6.45pm .please wear reflective gear and headlights

SGR BELFAST CITY MARATHON BUS OPEN TO ALL CLUBS ........

Sunday 5th May 2019. Please PM Slieve Gullion Runners to book your place or contact Eamon Murphy. This year the bus will be £10.00 per head and open to all running clubs . Leaving Mulkerns Eurospar @7am Sharp.Arriving at Stormont approx 8am , Marathon start 9am and Leaving Ormeau Park approx 3pm .SGR members, family, friends and supporters welcome.

LAST 10 SPOTS FOR  MINI MARATHON BUS

SGR club member Tina Crawley will be once again running a bus to the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon in Dublin on Sunday 2nd June. This is open to SGR members as well as non-members. There will be a 49 seater so please contact us at SGR Facebook page via PM or contact Tina at her page. Limited spaces left please be quick.
