Photograph: Columba O'HareComprehensive wins in the Allianz National Football League  from Down and Armagh could only save Armagh while Down have slipped back into Division Two where thanks to a win by Laois (Ironically managed by Armagh's Justin McNulty!) over Wexford and Armagh's comeback draw with Wexford way back in February.

At least next season will have the always eagerly anticipated derby clash between the counties.

Armagh cruised to a victory against Galway at the Athletic Grounds winning by 0:21 to 1:12 for Galway. With captain Ciaran McKeever missing from the side due to a one match ban it was all to play for so the victory was all the sweeter.

Despite Down scoring Three goals and beating Kildare 3:13 to 1:12 they just didn't have enough results on the table and will join Armagh in Division Two along with Donegal who were relegated and  Monaghan and Meath who were promoted from Division Three as well as Laois, Louth and Galway who stay put.
