Staff from Mullaghbawn based Aidan Strain Electrical Engineering (ASEE Ltd.) are taking part in this Sunday’s Belfast City Marathon Relay Race with runners raising funds in aid of Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke (NICHS), a charity which has been working closely with the company over the last two years on various health and wellbeing initiatives.
NICHS provides expert care and support to anyone at risk of, or currently living with chest, heart, and stroke conditions. They also fund local ground-breaking research into better treatments, care, and prevention. Multiple members of staff in ASEE have completed courses provided by NICHS such as Health Champion Training and Mental Health First Aider Training as part of the Work Well Live Well Programme.
ASEE HR Manager Heather McCracken said: “We have been working closely with Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke over the last two years through the provision of their Workplace Health Champion and Mental Health First Aider training as part of the Work Well Live Well Programme. We now have a Health and Wellbeing Committee and a strategic plan of activities and events aimed at improving the physical and mental wellbeing of all our employees. It is good to have the opportunity to show our appreciation by supporting and raising funds for the charity that has done so much to support our staff.”
Two relay teams are competing for ASEE Ltd as well as two staff, Fearghal Delaney and Jamie Stokes, who plan to complete the whole 26.2 mile race themselves.
