Local Independent Councillor Davy Hyland today handed in his candidate nomination for the 22nd of May Local Council Election.

Commenting on his nomination Davy said "l have decided to seek re-election as an Independent Councillor to give all the people of Newry and surrounding areas effective representation on the new Council.

I am offering the people of this area my 20 years experience in local politics. I am providing a real alternative to the current political parties and their unrealistic promises. I welcome the wider - district of Fathom, Meigh, Killeen and Killeavy and parts of the Old Warrenpoint Road and Rathfriland Road into my electoral area. I believe these areas will benefit from inclusion in the wider Newry constituency.”
