Newry and surrounds were well represented at Thursday's Brexit meeting at Farmleigh House in Dublin with Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Three of the guests were former Our Lady's Grammar School pupils, Deborah Loughran who spent seven years at the school, Kathy Murray did her A Levels at the school and Patricia MacBride spent first year in Our Lady's.

Another of the guests was Dearbhail McDonald a former Sacred Heart pupil and also in attendance was Senator Ian Marshall, who comes from near Glenanne.

The meeting was organised as an opportunity for people from the north to give their perspective and personal stories on Brexit and the impact a hard border would have on their border communities and local business.
