Newry, Mourne and Down District Council have opened Books of Condolence for Journalist, Lyra McKee who was killed in Derry for anyone who wants to offer their sympathies to Lyra's partner and family and friends . The book has already been signed by many of those that took part in a protest at the Journalist's death on Saturday at Newry Town Hall.

Lyra McKee's  funeral takes place tomorrow Wednesday 24 April at 1pm in St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin was first to sign the book and said, "The opening of these Books of Condolence will allow the good people of our district to offer their sympathies to Lyra’s family and friends.”

Newry – District Council Offices, Newry and Newry Town Hall

Rowallane – Ballynahinch Market House

Slieve Gullion – Crossmaglen Community Centre

The Mournes – Newcastle Centre
