Southern Area Hospice Services is celebrating 30 years of local Hospice care this year and so are encouraging local people to host a coffee morning in celebration and to raise vital funds to help maintain their services. This year the Southern Area Hospice must raise £2.6 million to continue to care for people within the local community with life limiting illnesses such as; cancer, multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease.

The Hospice is aiming to make their coffee morning campaign bigger than ever with the aim of raising £55,000. A coffee morning can simply be a few friends meeting for coffee and a chat or in a workplace, school or local club, no coffee morning is too big or too small but every penny counts. This year’s official coffee morning is on Thursday 12th September with the Hospice encouraging supporters to host one whenever possible.

This year’s coffee morning campaign is kindly sponsored by McEvoy’s Drapery Monaghan Street Newry.

Proprietor Martin McEvoy said “Hosting a coffee morning is a fun and easy way to raise money for your local Hospice and I would urge all businesses, groups and individuals to organise their own coffee morning or support one that is being hosted. Here at McEvoy’s we have organised numerous coffee mornings over the years in aid of the Hospice and we plan to host many more, what better way to support 30 years of Southern Area Hospice?”

So raise your cups to 30 years of Southern Area Hospice this September and register today and know that money raised will be turned into care for Hospice patients, every cup really does count.
