With Christmas fast approaching the organisers of Bite n Banter are preparing once again to make sure that no one needs to be alone in Newry on Christmas Day and they are well into planning for their fifth “Bite n Banter for Christmas” gathering at The Gateway Club, Kilmorey Street, Newry on Christmas Day.

Despite the festivities many people feel isolated and alone on Christmas Day and although everyones circumstances are different thepeople organising Bite n Banter believe that it is possible to make a difference, however small, to help alleviate the ever growing problem of loneliness in today’s society.

The local group of volunteer organisers aim to provide a place for anyone, young or old, alone or otherwise who would like to enjoy some food, a bit of entertainment and some chat and company on Christmas Day. The Gateway Club are again generously providing their premises for the day from 1pm for some food, light refreshments and, above all, some good company.

Anyone wishing to donate on the day can do so by offering a cooked plated dinner which will be gratefully accepted at the club from 12 noon until 3pm (please wrap in cling film or foil without gravy).
