An online Facebook campaign to help get a Community Centre For Warrenpoint has resulted in a meeting in Warrenpoint Town Hall last week which locals and councillors attended.

Organised by Kevin Gallagher who started an online campaign on Facebook, the meeting was set up to ask local councillors what has been done and what future plans there are for a Warrenpoint Community Centre.

Councillors Michael Carr from the SDLP and Councilor Michael Ruane from Sinn Fein attended the meeting and were asked questions from the public on the issue and informed the crowd that things are moving towards a community centre for the town and they will work with the community on this issue.

The meeting had a very positive feel from all sections and more meetings are planned with the community as well with councilors to keep this moving closer to the final goal of a community centre for Warrenpoint and the area.

There was a great attendance at the meeting but everyone was in agreement that  the whole communities involvement with the support of the councilors was needed to get this issue addressed.
