Members of Carnagat Community Association have come up with an ingenious idea to try and keep people connected while we all are stuck in our houses during the Coronovirus crisis lockdown.

At 8pm tonight Thursday 2 April they want everyone to do a 'Wave of Light' ie stand at your door and say hello to your neighbours with a wave of light. (Torches, phone lights etc)

The idea was inspired by last week's NHS 'Clap for the Carers' when many of us went to our doors to show appreciation for health workers sharing an emotional and touching moment. They hope that this will become a weekly event every Thursday at 8pm,

Carnagat CA have been talking amongst ourselves about building on this and maybe making it a regular weekly/fortnightly thing were we can come out to our doors and say hello to each other with our mobile phone lights.

Comments of support on their Facebook page included "Great idea and important to keep momentum going and it enhances community spirit" and "Great idea! Can feel a lonely time for many not being able to see family and friends and this would show we're all in this together and to stay strong and safe!"
