Podium finish for Joshua

Well done to young SGR Joshua Muckian, who won the junior category in the Fitzers 5k Fun Run at Dundalk on Saturday. Joshua has taken part in the event over the years and now has finished on the podium in a great time of 00:21:23 and looks like our club and sport have a star for the future after another outstanding run, we all at the club are so proud of young Joshua. Saturday also saw father Brian Muckian take part, with Joshua just coming in across the line in front of his Dad who had a time of 00:21:59 and a proud day for the family. Well done to SGR Ruth Kilkenny who kicked off her running season in great form with a very strong time of 00:24:55.

Eamon does the double in Ballina on same day

SGR Eamon Murphy completed two marathons in Ballina in Co. Mayo on Saturday,  Starting the first marathon at 7 am and then going to the starting line on the same day for the 2nd at 3 pm. Eamons total miles ran on the day was 52.4 miles and total running time 8hrs 17 mins. This is a great test of a runner not just to take on one marathon but to be at the start for the second on the same day shows how strong Eamon is and that his hard training is paying off and finishing strong in both marathons.
