Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, Cllr Roisin Mulgrew has highlighted recent dumping at Camlough saying it has displayed nothing but contempt for local people.

"All dumping is to be condemned but the fact that this incident occurred within feet of the council's amenity site on the Quarter Road is utterly ridiculous and frankly just displays contempt for local people," she said.

"Anyone with information on those responsible for these acts must come forward to the relevant authorities. The clean-up bill for these incidents continues to be paid for by the ratepayer and is simply not sustainable.

"It is particularly disappointing to see our magnificent countryside tarnished in this manner when so many within the community are working tirelessly to promote  South Armagh in terms of tourism and regeneration and to improve the life and well being of all  its residents."
