A community led cleanup of Camlough Lake is taking place at the lake on Easter Monday between 11am and 1pm and Newry and Armagh MLA Mickey Brady is urging people from across south Armagh and beyond to get involved with the campaign.

“As well as being one of the most beautiful places in Ireland, Camlough lake is an invaluable local resource,” he said.

“So many of us from across south Armagh and beyond use it and while it’s good we have that sense of ownership of the lake that means we also have a responsibility to maintain it as well as enjoying it.

“With so many events happening here the lake now has a national profile so this call extends well beyond Camlough and indeed south Armagh.  Anyone who has ever used the lake knows what a terrific resource it is so I’m putting the call out to everyone, if you want to maintain the excellent quality of the lake and have a few hours to spare on Easter Monday then get involved.”
