The 2016 Christmas visits at Gina’s Cottage in memory of Georgina Boyd raised £7,464 for Southern Area Hospice.

Jim Boyd and members of the Boyd Family and Gina’s Santa Cottage volunteers recently presented the cheque to the Hospice.  Now in its 6th year of running, the Santa’s cottage in Sheeptown has now raised almost £60,000 for Southern Area Hospice to date.

The family and members of staff of the Hospice would like to thank everyone who generously supported the cottage in 2016 including the families who booked a visit to meet Santa and all of those who sponsored and contributed to the campaign.

Regional Marketing Officer James McCaffrey said, “Southern Area Hospice Services provides invaluable support and care to people living in the Southern Area Trust Area who are suffering from Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and other terminal illnesses. To provide this care our annual fundraising target this year is a staggering £2.5 million – which we could not achieve without the help and support of the local community. The funds raised by Gina’s Santa Cottage will go directly to paying for the continued provision of our vital services. Thank you to everyone who donated to this wonderful campaign. It is a pleasure to work alongside Jim and the family on this wonderful fundraising initiative”
