If you would like to volunteer to help clean Newry up this Saturday should be a date for your diary as several local organisations and businesses are getting together to carry out a litter pick in the vicinity of the Clanrye River and Newry Canal.

Newry BID is conjunction with Newry 2020, Love Your Lough, The Newry Reporter and Buttercrane Shopping Centre are organising the litter pick this Saturday 4 August from 1-3pm. It's part of a new hands on campaign to help tidy up our city.

The first stage in the process will be a Litter Pick around the river areas. This time around it will be the areas around the river rather than the river itself. The group will meet at the Hump Back Bridge opposite the front door of the Buttercrane at 1pm. It's a coordinated group litter pick and anyone interested in giving a hand MUST REGISTER in advance to allow for the coordination of equipment. Contact Rebecca on 028 30250303 Ext 1) or email rebecca@newry.com

Newry BID along with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council will be providing all the materials for the litter pick, while Newry 2020 and Love your Lough are helping to facilitate the pick.
