Translink’s Declan McGoran said: “The Irish Open will be an unmissable sports event positioning South Down as a top visitor destination and we are pleased to work closely with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council to deliver an effective transport plan. We have a range of hassle-free travel options for visitors including a free Park & Ride shuttle bus service in Newcastle running to and from the event; extra bus services from both Newry and Belfast to Newcastle, a special bus transfer from Newry Train Station for Enterprise passengers at selected times and special coaches running from towns and cities right across Northern Ireland.  A range of good value Translink travel tickets are available for these services.  We also plan to maintain existing normal services in the area but there will inevitably be increased traffic congestion so customers are reminded to leave extra time for journeys. To plan your journey now click www.translink.co.uk/irishopen/ or call 028 90 66 66 30.”
