The IWAI Newry and Portadown branch elected their 2016 team at their 2015 AGM with two new branch officers: George Beattie as chairman and Tony Donnelly as secretary.

Both are relatively new members of the branch and both live in Banbridge. They are backed up by experienced officers Paul McKeown as vice chairman and Jonathan Cully who remains as treasurer.

Bruce Crawford and Paul McKeown maintain their roles in Safety and Child Protection.

The post of PRO was left vacant as Geraldine Foley stood down this year after 4 years in the role.

Branch membership continues to rise and new volunteers are always welcome. Branch meetings will continue to be held on the first Monday of the month alternating between Scarva, Newry and the Sluicekeeper's Cottage when evening daylight permits.

The AGM was concluded with a screening of 'The Great Railway Debate' movie by The Pass Players which was very amusing and detailed the coming of the railway to the village.
