All Ireland Irish Life Unevens Cross Country Championships - Navan, Co. Meath.

Meadow McCauley travelled on Saturday down to Navan, Co. Meath for the All Ireland Unevens (U17s) Cross Country Championships. Meadow was representing in the Ulster Provincial Squad.

The athletes had not only a tough course to negotiate but also Storm Deidre adding to the challenge with heavy rain and strong winds.

The course started off the gun with 104 young athletes stampeding and battling for places up a hill before settling into the undulating course.

Meadow ran well and consistently maintained her placing throughout the race. She completed to the finish line with a great 200 metre uphill race pack battle in torrential rain and head winds.

Meadow was very pleased to complete the 2.6 mile course in 47th position and be the 9th Ulster athlete over the line in a time of 17:24.   The Ulster team came 3rd overall in the girls U17s.

Race Round the Lake, Camlough

On Sunday morning, Rory Mulvaney, Esther Dickson, Ciara Coffey and Nuala Boyle  took part in the popular Race round the Lake at Camlough.

The race route took the athletes on a 7 mile course around the waters of Camlough, starting and finishing at Cowan's Yard.

The race had 213 participants with many in festive attire and spirit as well as fine running form.

Rory Mulvaney finished in 12th place in 45:52; Esther Dickson lifted 1st Female and 13th overall in 45:54; Ciara Coffey was 5th Female, 45th overall in 51:17; Nuala Boyle in festive attire was 13th Female, 80th overall in 56:08.
