The first of this year’s excellent Ring of Gullion coach tour happened over the Easter break providing locals and tourist alike the opportunity to experience all the Ring of Gullion has to offer. Local guide Una Walsh and the Ring of Gullion Officer  welcomed attendees to the very popular coach tour on Wednesday 23rd April.

The tour offers visitors a chance to explore an exceptional countryside rich in geology, archaeology, wildlife and folklore. Throughout the day, ancient monuments, quiet villages and breathtaking views can be discovered.

Una Walsh said “We have run this tour a number of times over the last few years and we are always over subscribed. This is the first time we have offered it on a week day and we are pleased with the response. We are delighted to provide people with a chance to explore the Ring of Gullion and enjoy the breathtaking landscape whilst learning about the history too.”

Therese Hamill, Ring of Gullion AONB Officer commented, “It’s great to see so much enthusiasm for the Ring of Gullion. And it doesn’t end with these coach tours, you can see what else is on offer in the Ring of Gullion by visiting their website,”

The bus tour is a free event supported by Newry and Mourne District Council and the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA). The next bus tour will be on Saturday 17th May and places are booking up fast.
