Primary Schools across Newry, Mourne and Down are being urged to enter teams into the local heat of the Northern Ireland Road Safety Quiz being held on Tuesday 1st March 2016 from 10 - 11.30am in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry.

The local event is being hosted by the recently established Newry & Mourne Road Safety Committee and is the first of many initiatives the group are planning to run to promote road safety awareness, particularly with vulnerable road users like Primary School children.

The table quiz with cover both general knowledge and road safety questions.  The quiz will consist of 7 rounds of 8 questions plus an extra round on road signs.   Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places plus every person involved will take home a certificate.  Each School can send one or two teams of 4 pupils from Primary 6 or 7 classes.

As an added incentive the two top teams in the Newry & Mourne area will progress to the Northern Ireland Finals which will take place at the NI Fire & Rescue Training Centre, Boucher Road, Belfast on Monday 14th March 2016 at 7pm.  The finals are being organised by the Road Safety Council of Northern Ireland.
