Senior Football / Peil Sinsearach

Our Senior Team played at home this week.  The opposing team travelling from Ballyhegan.  Our boys played with the wind in the first half and it was a challenging game for both sides.  Ballyhegan scored two goals in the first half.  This left us behind going into the second half.  Thomas Davis lifted their spirits and had plenty of chances to score points.  Unfortunately  Ballyhagen had a few frees towards the end of the game, their Keeper putting 3 of them over the bar to give Ballyhagen the winning points.   End score Thomas Davis 1-11, Ballyhegan 3-8.  Our Senior’s play at home against Tullysaran this Sunday 31 May 2015.

South Armagh U-10 Go Games

Friday 22nd May 2015

Shane O’Neill’s  v Thomas Davis Corrinshego

Played on a beautiful Friday evening the young footballers played gamely against their near neighbours. In the opening minutes the Newry side found it hard  to compete with Shane’s but after shipping 2 goals, Corrinshego got to grips with the game with points from Adam  Travers , C. Bradley and Danny Shields.  An impressive display by Eoin Lenagh pushed Corrinshego foward with every attack . With the goalkeeping position being rotated  with C. Higgins , Brian Quinn  , C. Bradley and Martin McKinley all performed heroically in nets with Brian pulling off a surprisingly good save.

On the resumption M. McKinley scored a goal and a point, followed up with 0-2 by Danny O’Neill. Luke Fegan was unlucky when in front of the nets, but he never gave up.  C. Havern and L. O’ Brien defended  well  and the two girls Kaylee Mooney and Jordanna Lambe   improve with every game and Jordanna was probably our most heroic   competitor in the first half. With captain for the night Ciaran Higgins pushing forward and A. Travers being more dominant in midfield, Corrinshego outscored their opponents in the second half.

For the final phase of 15 minutes Danny Shields and Danny O’Neill defended well, to leave the final score at a well merited draw against probably our toughest opposition in a long time at U-10 level. It was also great to see U-14 player Conor Lenagh at the match after his recent injury.  There is an U-10 match against O’Hanlon’s this Tuesday.

Thomas Davis Corrinshego : C. Higgins, B. Quinn, D. O’Neill, J. Lambe, M. Mc Kinley, D. Shields, A. Travers, C. Havern,  E. Lenagh, C. Bradley, L. Fegan, L. O’Brien, K. Mooney
