Three men aged 23, 27 and 32 years old have been arrested this afternoon in Newry following a report of a burglary in Belfast earlier today, Friday 27 August..

The burglary took place in the Strangford Avenue area of south Belfast. The PSNI helicopter was in use.

Detective Sergeant Wilson said: “At approximately 12.35pm it was reported entry was gained to a property in the area and a sum of money was taken. 

“Two males were later observed getting into a blue coloured Audi which was later stopped and three suspects detained in the Newry area.

“The men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and various related motor offences, with all three in custody at this time."

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 797 27/08/21.
