Newry Canal Towpath to Carlingford Lough Greenway - Proposed Cycle/ Walking Route

1: Starting at the end of the Newry Canal Towpath at WIN. Present barriers which are already an obstacle to getting a bike on/off the towpath would need to be removed. Photograph: Columba O'Hare/ Newry.ie

2: The path would lead on to Canal Quay, probably one of the trickiest parts of the route to make cycle friendly. The footpath width would need to be extended in places and converted into a cycle path, a marked cycle path on the Canal side of the road or just a shared road with traffic calming measures put in place. 2: The path would lead on to Canal Quay, probably one of the trickiest parts of the route to make cycle friendly.
