Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Area has the highest number of new positive tests for Covid-19 in NI in the last 7 days, with 11 new people from here testing positive out of a total of 26 throughout the north.*

It contrasts with Belfast which has the most positive results  overall but has only 2 new cases in the past week. Most other council areas had a maximum of 3 new people testing positive with the next highest Lisburn with 5 new cases.

Since the outbreak started there has been a total of 33 Covid-19 deaths from Newry, Mourne and Down with 554 Covid-19 deaths throughout NI (Department of Health Statistics - deaths in hospitals) or 824 Covid-19 deaths registered throughout NI (NI Statistic and Research Agency Statistic)
