The speed limit on what was the former Newry bypass running from Fiveways Roundabout to the Mourne Country Roundabout has been changed from the previous 50MPH to 40MPH from today, Wednesday 28 November.
Although as eagle eyed photographer Mark Pearse noticed not all of the 50MPH signs were removed when the work was done leaving behind what presumably is a stray 50MPH sign appearing right between the new shiny 40MPH ones!
Newry drivers should exercise caution though as if they are caught driving at the previously acceptable 50, saying 50 is the new 40 will probably not suffice!
