While the vote counting may have ended last Saturday night in the local council election, there were still some numbers to be crunched - social media views of the election coverage.
Over the two days of the count in Newry Sports Centre, your locally owned and run Newry.ie tweeted 64 times and put up 60 Facebook posts.
Importantly, 57 of these 64 tweets were self-generated - they were not retweets of someone else’s work - and these are the Tweets you count.
From 7.45am on Friday morning to 3pm on Sunday past, Newry.ie’s Twitter coverage of the local election count for Newry, Mourne and Down District Council, was viewed 202,777 times.
Add in the total figure for the 60 Newry.ie election Facebook posts over the same period - 358,294 - and that’s a phenomenal 561,071 views in just over two and a half days on Newry.ie.
These figures don't include posts on the website itself which attracted thousands more views.
Thank you to everyone who followed the Newry.ie election count coverage - we hope you enjoyed it.
