Newry people really are the greatest when it comes to taking time to look out for other people. The team of volunteers at A Bite and Banter for Christmas are once again inviting anyone young or old who would like a bit of company on Christmas Day to come along and join in their festivities at Newry Gateway Club. You can stay as long as you like and it won't cost a penny with volunteers providing the food, the service, the entertainment and even a lift if you need one.
Explaining how it works Bite n Banter's Facebook page says "We ask the good people of Newry and beyond to make an extra dinner on Christmas Day (without gravy) and then bring it down to us at the Gateway Club between 1.00pm and 2.30pm. Then those who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day can come down to the club and have that dinner. There will be music. Great food. Tea coffee and lovely desserts. Toys for children too. We don't want anyone to be alone on Christmas Day"
If you know anyone who would appreciate a bit of chat and company on Christmas day tell them to get down to Newry Gateway Club 20 Kilmorey St, Newry BT34 2DE on Christmas Day from 1pm.
