Organisers of the upcoming Newry, Mourne, and Down Job Fair are inviting local employers across Newry, Mourne, and Down to promote their current vacancies at the event which takes place on Thursday, June 19, in the Canal Court Hotel in Newry.
Newry, Mourne, and Down Labour Market Partnership, in collaboration with Cross Border Partnership Employment Services, host this event. Labour Market Partnerships, funded by the Department for Communities, create targeted employment action plans for council areas. These partnerships foster collaboration at local and regional levels to support individuals towards and into work.
Now in its fourth year, the Job Fair provides a valuable platform for employers to connect directly with local jobseekers. From those starting out, to individuals looking to change or progress in their careers, the fair offers a chance for businesses to showcase real-time job opportunities and meet potential candidates face-to-face.
Employers operating within Newry, Mourne, and Down can promote roles across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, hospitality, finance, transport, and many more. Opportunities may include full-time, part-time, flexible, and casual positions within businesses of all sizes, from global firms to local enterprises.
At the launch of the Job Fair in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Pete Byrne, emphasised the event’s significance. “This presents a fantastic opportunity for local employers to connect with the talented workforce within our district,” Councillor Byrne stated. “In today’s tight labour market with high demand for staff, the Job Fair allows businesses to promote vacancies and engage directly with potential employees. With previous years’ exhibition space quickly filled, we encourage employers to register early to secure their place and take advantage of this unique recruitment opportunity.”
Exhibiting at the event is free of charge. Employers interested in participating can register at consultations.nidirect.gov.uk
