European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) takes place each year throughout Europe and if you would like to highlight your Newry property by throwing your doors open to the public now is the time to get in touch with the organisers .
This year it's the 12th & 13th of September and many properties will open their doors for free for that one weekend only!

The 2015 Theme is Industrial Heritage. The Industrial Revolution had a major impact on life here and left a legacy of sites from corn and flax mills to lead mines, canals and railways. You may have some knowledge of Northern Ireland’s Industrial Heritage enabling you to give a talk or tour. Your property may have some links to industry or you might have some photos you would like to display!
There are many ways to get involved:
Open your building: Many businesses operate from buildings of interest and can open their doors to the public over EHOD weekend.
Use EHOD as a selling point: Many hotels, restaurants and cafes can use the EHOD events in their area as a way of attracting business. Hotels / guesthouses can promote the local EHOD events as a reason to attract visitors to the area. They can even put on special offers over the EHOD weekend!
If you would like to get involved please email ehod@doeni.gov.uk or call 028 9054 3022.
