AGE NI seeking Volunteers for their First Connect service

Age NI are looking for volunteers for their First Connect service in Newry. First Connect is a service which supports older people locally who may be going through a significant change in their life, for example bereavement or illness, leaving them isolated and lonely.

Can you make a difference to the lives of older people in your local area? Join their team of volunteers and be there for older people who have no one else to turn to.

Volunteers, once trained, are matched with one older person locally and would visit them for around an hour a week/fortnight – this could be going to their home for a cup of tea or taking them out for a coffee and bun somewhere, depending on what the older person feels they could benefit from.
