Police are seeking information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a property in Newry in the early hours of Saturday morning, 27 January. A number of masked men ransacked a house at the Belfast Road in the city.
Detective Sergeant Lewis said: “At approximately 1.50am, it was reported that approximately 3 or 4 masked and armed men, one believed to be carrying a shotgun, entered the house in the Belfast Road area and threatened the residents."
The men ransacked the house and made off with a quantity of cash in the direction of the A1. Thankfully the residents were uninjured although damage was caused to a window and items of furniture.
The PSNI are asking anyone who may have any information or CCTV, doorbell or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 143 of 27/01/24.
