Application Lodged for Apartments and Retail Units at Merchants Quay

An application for planning permission has been placed for a new development on the corner of Merchant's Quay/ Canal Street.

The application would see the site transformed with retail units and apartments.

Submitted in the name of Kelly Brothers, Warrenpoint the development is on the site of the former P&R Motors showroom and the proposal would see demolition of existing buildings on the site.

Thirty five one and two bedroom apartments are planned for the first, second and third floors with a communal landscaped terrace on the first floor. Car and cycle parking facilities would be located on the ground floor underneath. Three retail units would also be built on the ground floor facing Merchant's Quay and Canal Street.

Vehicular access would be via an entrance on Merchant's Quay and pedestrian access would be available via Canal Street.
