An application has been lodged with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s planners seeking permission to change the use of ground floor facilities at a Rathfriland hotel.
Lodged by agent Gregory Architects on behalf of applicant Mr A Flynn permission is sought to convert the ground floor bar, off sales and kitchen area to six ensuite bedrooms, one two ensuite bedroom suite and a new reception area for hotel use and breakfast/coffee shop at the Old George Hotel at 3 Caddells Lane, Rathfriland.
The application form notes the applicant does not own any of the land adjoining the 0.19 hectare site and explains that work is yet to start on the proposal.
If approved the development will not change the number of the parking spaces available on site nor will it alter the existing vehicular access to the site.
Water will be supplied to the site via the mains network and surface water and foul sewage will be disposed of via the mains sewer.
The development will lead to the creation of eight further rooms on site bringing the total number of rooms in the building to 24.
Lodged and validated on Wednesday, April 5, the application’s neighbour consultation period closes on Friday, June 9 with its standard consultation period to close on Thursday, June 15.
The application will be advertised until Friday June 23.
