Write a commentSt. Patricks Primary School better known as ‘the Meadow’ is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year.
One of the main celebrations was a gala dinner dance held in the Canal Court Hotel. There was a large turnout of Bosco members on the night and all enjoyed a nostalgic walk down memory lane for some it was more of a marathon than a walk!)
Many of the Bosco members spent their formative years in the Ballinare Gardens Academy under great teachers such as Mrs Philpott, Mr Loughran. Mr McGuigan, Mr McDonald, Miss Barry, Mrs Rafferty, Mrs Delargey, Mr McCartan, Mr Delahunt, Mr O’Rourke and Mr Cranny when it was a boy’s only school!
Many of today’s Bosco underage stars are at the school under new Principal Kieran Mackin and attend the after school gaelic training under the expert guidance of Bosco Mentor Larry McAlinden. Cathearleach Joe Ryan stated ‘Naomh Eoin Bosco are very proud of their close links with Naomh Padraig Bunscoil, both established together, have grown together and have served the community with pride. Here’s to another great 50 years of quality education and Gaelic sports in the Meadow.’
