Break in at Border Filling Station

McKevitts Filling Station on the old Dublin Road at the border is closed this morning following a break in. The incident that took place overnight saw the shutters of the premises rammed causing damage to the shop front. The staff have announced on Facebook that they hope to re-open this afternoon.

Speaking of the incident Newry City Councillor, Cllr Roisin Mulgrew said ‘You work at business 7 days a week 18 hours a day serving your community and your community appreciates that, but this is the scene that greeted  our community this morning at McKevitts filling station. I appeal to anyone with information to contact psni immediately and I extend the support of our community to the Mc kevitt family and their staff"
