Last night was a busy night for Police and Emergency crews with different incidents in Mary Street, Water Street and Canal Street.
Early in the evening several people were evacuated from flats at Mary Street with two needing hospital treatment.
Later on Police conducted a search in the Canal Street Area in relation to crime. Canal Street and parts of Catherine Street were sealed off around 11pm for around an hour.
Detectives in Newry are appealing for information after a report of an armed robbery at business premises around 6.25pm last night also (Thursday)
This took place in the Upper Water Street area of the City at around 6.25pm when it was reported that a man with a suspected firearm, entered the premises and threatened staff.
The man made off with a sum of cash. The member of staff was not injured during the incident.
The man is described as wearing a dark blue coloured hooded zipped jacket with the hood pulled up and blue jeans.
