Coming up to Christmas Police in Newry are asking residents to keep and eye out for their neighbours following an incident in the Cois Locha area on Sunday, 27 November.
Police received a report around 7.15pm of a window being broken by a group of youths throwing stones. Police attended however the youths had left the area. Around 9.04pm police received a similar report in the Quayside Close area of youths throwing stones at windows. Fortunately, in this instance, no damage was caused.
Constable Humphries commented: "This is very intimidating behaviour and is extremely frightening for the occupants of these homes.
"Residents in any area know their locality better than anyone and know what is out of place and not quite right. We do not anyone to be the victim of crime coming up to Christmas and we are asking all residents to report any suspicious or antisocial behaviour to us as soon as they are aware of it.
"We would also ask the youths behind these incidents to stop and think about their actions and the effect they are having on the community and, in particular, the more vulnerable members of the community.
