Just came across this floating debris in Newry Canal at Sugar Island the other day. It almost looks like a painting as an image but in the flesh it's an amazing blot on the landscape.
Has anyone got any idea why in this day and age that litter is still an issue and that we collectively haven't got the message yet.
Having travelled extensively around Europe I can say that no other country I have visited has this problem. This photograph was taken beside a bin but people still prefer to flip their bottles or burger containers straight in to the water.
Is it a problem with no solution?
