Canal Work to begin at Buttercrane Quay this week

Newry Canal Public Realm work already well underway along Merchants Quay is due to commence on Buttercrane Quay on Wednesday coming and will run until June.

A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works, which will temporarily restrict the overall width of the Buttercrane Quay road-way, while also trying to maintain two-way traffic.

With the Temporary Traffic Management Plan coming into effect from Wednesday 15th January 2014 onwards, the Scheme promoters would ask members of the public, both pedestrians and motorists to take note and follow the new temporary directional signage/carriageway markings that will be in place for the duration of the works.
