Police in Newry are appealing for information following the thefts of cars from car parks at Merchants Quay and Cornmarket.
The Merchant's Quay incident happened around 4pm on Friday, 12 August, two males stole a red Honda CRV car, registration SA05FEK, after offering assistance to the female driver. They made off from the car park.
The car was found burnt out in Dundalk a few days later.
Police in Newry are also appealing for information following the theft of a car from a car park at Cornmarket, Monaghan Street.
Around 5.05pm on Monday, 8 August, a silver Nissan Almera was stolen by a male person. He is described as being approximately 30 years old with black hair and was wearing a yellow t-shirt.
The car was driven from the car park onto Monaghan Street where it collided with a vehicle before making onto the Camlough Road.
The car was later recovered burnt out in Dundalk.
