Artist, Amira McDonagh recently collaborated with local Newry social enterprises Bolster Community and Story Box NI to provide the artwork for their brand-new candle, Lough Neagh Dawn. The bespoke candle embodies the spirit of N. Ireland while promoting positive mental wellbeing. For every candle sold, £2 will be donated to PIPS, a vital charity providing mental health services to those in need across NI.
In addition to raising funds, they aim to spark open conversations about mental health and wellbeing, aiming to reduce the stigma surrounding these issues.
Crafted with care by young adults with additional needs in Newry, this candle also supports the work of Acorn/Bolster Community, who empower their candle makers and foster a sense of connection, value, and purpose.
The artwork adorning the Lough Neagh Dawn Candle has been beautifully hand painted by Amira. Drawing inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes of N. Ireland, the candle captures the essence of Lough Neagh, a central point connecting the counties.
Amira has kindly donated the original artwork to be raffled off to raise further funds for PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland.
Each entry is £5. For example, a £5 donation equals 1 entry, a £10 donation equals 2 entries and so on. The winner will be selected at random on Tuesday 8th August 2023.
