
Charlie Smyth's Newry Pantomime has raised £13,000 for charity. Charlie himself took time out on his 80th Birthday to make the presentations.
A group effort from the entire cast and backstage crew resulted in several local charities receiving funding.
Receiving money were: Southern Area Hospice, £2000; Irish Children's Pilgrimage Trust, £2000; Newry M.S. Society, £2000; Cancer Research, £1000; St Vincent De Paul, £1000; Salvation Army, £1000; Samaritans, £1000; Gateway Club, £1000; Marie Curie Cancer Care, £1000 and Motor Neurone, £1000.
