Council Chairperson, Cllr Michael Savage called in to Newry and Mourne Museum last week to say hello to the children who were taking part in a week-long summer arts and crafts workshops at the Museum.
The five-day camp, which ran from 25 - 29 July was based on the theme, ‘Have Fun in the Sun with Seaside and Sun’. The workshops included 3D seaside scenes, making sunny plant pots or fishy creatures.
The children who attended got to work with new material including cyanotypes or sun prints and celluclay, which is similar to papier mache. They also enjoyed clay modelling making mermaid mirrors and underwater sea creatures and creating collages with paint and found objects from the seaside.
Entrance to Newry and Mourne Museum is free of charge 10am to 4.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday, with free car parking on site.
