The Currach boats were assisted by Gerry Byrne and three Yachts out of the Port in Warrenpoint. Members of Currach Folk group joined them for a session in Nan Rices later.
The Currachs and entorage returned to Warrenpoint on Sunday leaving the Albert Basin and heading down the stunning Newry Ship Canal around midday on a beautiful cold frosty morning.
Speaking of the adventure Event Officer for the Club Dermot Russell said "It was a great experience and a magical trip for the crews and shoppers. We would like to thank the Council and Warrenpoint Port for facilitating our journey up the Lough. With the planned development of the Albert Basin and the Narrow Water Bridge back on line the opportunities for this area will be endless"
