Clanrye Group, a local community organisation is celebrating Carers Week 2023. Clanrye Group provides support to unpaid Carers through their Carer's First programme and provides valuable resources, assistance, and community engagement opportunities. The group also aims to improve the quality of life for Carers and enhance their overall well-being.This annual event aims to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contributions of unpaid Carers.
As part of their ongoing commitment to supporting Carers, the group in partnership with the Southern Health & Social Care Trust (SHSCT) who fund the service, has organised a schedule of engaging activities from Monday 5 June to Friday 9 June. The activities will take place across the Southern Trust area including delightful Cream Teas, informative workshops, walking groups, and other health and wellbeing sessions.
Claire Convery, Head of Community Inclusion at Clanrye Group, highlighted the significance of recognising and supporting Carers, stating, "Carers are the backbone of our communities, and it's vital to acknowledge their selfless dedication and unwavering commitment."
Under this year's Carer's Week theme of 'recognising and supporting carers in the community,' Clanrye Group provides support to 300 Carers aged 18 and above every year and have up to 1500 carers on our register that receive regular updates and access to services.
