The Commons Silver Band hosted a Concert at Newry Orange Hall last night, 5 May, to celebrate today's Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey.

Taking part along with the Commons Silver Band were members of the Glascar and Donaghmore Girls Brigade Choir and local Scottish and Irish Dancers. There wasn't a seat left in Newry Orange Hall with the venue packed to capacity. The Commons entertained the audience with everything from sacred songs to wartime classics to Whitney Houston to Abba.

Glascar and Donaghmore GB got great applause with a resounding melody featuring The White Cliffs of Dover, Keep the Home Fires Burning, Bless them all and of course It's a long way to Tipperary.

Proceeds of the concert will go to new uniforms for the band.
