The PSNI are progressing with the planned closure of Crossmaglen Police Station but "internal requirements in respect of the communications network" has meant that its sale has still to be progressed.
At a meeting of Stormont’s Justice Committee, Newry and Armagh MLA Justin McNulty questioned the Chief Constable on the timeline for closure.
Mr McNulty said “I am keen to see the closure and disposal of Crossmaglen Station at the earliest possible opportunity. This site has the potential to offer massive value to the community, and it would also offer a chance to unlock huge potential for Cross Rangers.
“I will continue to press the PSNI leadership to progress the disposal of Crossmaglen station at pace and finally have the site returned to the local community.”
The PSNI have said that once a suitable solution to the communication network issue has been secured the sale of Crossmaglen Station wil be progressed via the Policing Board.
