Derrybeg Community Association has strongly condemned the actions of death drivers following a serious incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Slamming those responsible Chairman of Derrybeg Community Association, Stephen Murney explained "On Wednesday morning these death drivers crashed through the pedestrian crossing on the Camlough Road with such force that they ripped an entire traffic light from its base.

"They then continued to drive into Derrybeg with the traffic light still mounted on the car before abandoning the vehicle in 5th Avenue. If this had of been during the daytime then the outcome could have been very different.

"The actions of these imbeciles was abhorrent. The people of Derrybeg want to live in peace without the fear of death drivers using our area as a dumping ground for their abandoned vehicles."

The community worker concluded "These anti-community elements need to get off people's backs. Road safety on the Camlough Road is already an issue of concern for local residents and the last thing we need is death drivers adding to the problem."
